Mark Wheadon, and Travis LeGrand have teamed up to form Lana. LeGrand is a local contractor who has previously worked for The Marine RoomWaypoint Public HerringboneWheadon, who is also a Level 2-Sommelier, has previously worked at Robert Redford’s Tree Room, The Avalon Beverly Hills, Ruth’s Chris in Park City and Crescent Heights San Diego. LeGrand is the general manager of the restaurant, while Wheadon oversees wine and Beverage operations.
Menu will feature local ingredients coastal cuisineThe influence of Southern California is evident in the music. Baja CaliforniaAnd Asia. Wheadon says that they are still looking for a new chef.
Megan Power, formerly at Basile Studio, is now Megan Power of Workind Studio. Design of the SpaceWheadon describes the design as “coastal-vintage-luxe” with clean lines, a lively “wow” factor, and comfortable seating for guests. Power also designed both of the upcoming Puffer Malarkey Collective restaurant Le Coq” 31Thirtyone By Drew Deckman.
Wheadon has lived in Solana Beach, California, for the past 10 years. He feels that it is the perfect location to create a true neighborhood restaurant. But he also wants to offer a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our goal is for each guest to feel like they are being taken care of. Stress is a daily occurrence for many people “At the door”, he replies.
Lana is set to land on 437 South Highway 101, in February 2025.

Formerly home to Kensington Grill and Cucina Sorella, 4055 Adams Avenue now houses a new restaurant. Trattoria Da SofiaThe Italian restaurant is open every day from 3 pm to 9pm. Trattoria is based in Sicily. Mexico CityThe menu includes such favorites as bruschetta and lasagna. It also features beef carpaccio and spaghetti al pomodoro. There is plenty of alcohol and wine to go around.
