SALISBURY (MD) – Earlier this year, 123 college and university students representing 38 institutions in the U.S. and abroad competed at the 4th National Shore Sales Challenge. The event was hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Institute of Salisbury University (MASMI), and presented by Perdue Farms.
The students competed in role-playing and speed selling competitions, pitching their skills to the judges who represented the sponsors of the event and other participants, on the theme “Why am I the best person for this job?”
Grace Mousty of The University of Akron won $1,000 as the winner of the category role-play. Serena Karam from Virginia Tech came in second place, winning $750.
Christine Parker, Appalachian State University won the third place ($500), followed by Anna Kelley from Purdue University who came in at fourth ($250) as well as Emilie conners (Middle Tennessee State University) in fifth ($100).
Mousty was also the winner of the category for speed sales, with a prize money of $300. Atem Agot, from St. Ambrose University, placed second and won $200. Karam, who placed third and received a prize of $100, won the second place.
The coaches of the winning teams were also honored. Lisa Littlejohn, Scott Miller and The University of Akron’s team won $750 for placing first in the category of Top Teams. Meredith Shah was the coach for the Purdue University Team, and Mark Michalisin coached the Virginia Tech team. They placed second (500) ($500) ($250).
