HANOI (Reuters), April 15, 2019 – Apple’s CEO Tim Cook began a two day visit in Vietnam on Monday. He is scheduled to meet with students and creators of content during his stay.
VietnamNet, an online newspaper, reported that Cook would also be meeting with users of Apple devices to understand their use.
Cook, who was quoted as having said that Apple will boost its connections with local suppliers and clean water projects, along with education opportunities.
Apple was contacted by more than 60 environmental and human rights groups last week. A letter Act on Vietnam’s Detention of Climate Experts. Activist organisations are urging the country to act on this matter given its links to manufacturing.
