Tom Holland fans were surprised when the actor posted a cryptic message on social media platform X on April 16 regarding a possible merger between cryptocurrency platform Binance and social network X. Tom Holland is best known as Spider-Man, and has been in many headlines over the years. The actor has been in the spotlight not because of his films, but due to an online scam in which he was involved. Tom Holland’s X account was reportedly hacked. What’s even worse, fraudsters tried to promote cryptocurrency investments using his name. Tom Holland fans were shocked when the actor made a cryptic comment on social media platform X on April 16 regarding a possible merger between Binance and cryptocurrency platform X. In the now deleted tweet, Tom Holland recommended that his followers sign-up for an early access program to a digital currency called $SPIDER and Spiderverse NFTs. These were said to be related to SpiderVerse. Tom Holland, who is famous for having a limited presence on social media, was confused by the post. This led to his fans believing that the account was hacked. Moreover, a selfie of an unidentified man appeared on his X profile but later was removed suggesting it may have been the hacker.
A fan who was worried about Tom promoting cryptocurrency said, “Wait. So Tom wasn’t serious about this NFT BS? Thank goodness, because that was going to break my heart. Also, damn, that’s a suck. Marvel does. It’s obvious that this is some sort of scam or hack.”

Tom Holland is returning to stage to perform Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. In the London production that will take place between May and August of 2024, Tom Holland will be playing Romeo. Francesca Amewudah Rivers has also been cast in the role of Juliet, alongside Tom Holland. Francesca was in the BBC comedy Bad Education for two seasons. The team has been subjected to a great deal of abuse because of their announcement. They have also called out those who perpetrated the abuse. Jamie Lloyd Company released a press release, saying that “Following our ‘Romeo & Juliet’ casting announcement, there was a deplorable racial assault online targeted towards a company member.” Freema, Michael Balogun and Mia Jerome are also in the production.
