Google has released a Maps beta that allows for better synchronization between Android devices and Android Auto consoles.
The spotted by 9to5GoogleVersion 125, currently in beta testing, of Google Maps has a new toggle for “Show 3D Buildings”, which syncs with Android Auto. Note that this setting only works if you toggle it on or off before connecting to your vehicle.
In the beta, turning on 3D buildings while using Maps for Android to navigate will enable visual settings on Android Auto. It is no longer necessary to toggle on 3D buildings in Maps for Android and then go into the settings of Android Auto to achieve the same result.
Testing shows that if the 3D building was enabled at startup, users could toggle it off from their Android device without disrupting console. The rate of synchronization between Android Auto and Android seems to be much faster.
It’s not clear how long Google will need to implement this change for all users. If they wish, users can manually toggle the 3D building through Android Auto.
