Fatimo Ganigyu, a grandmother from Lagos State is currently in police custody after allegedly locking three babies in Ikotun.

Talking with PUNCH Metro On Thursday, Pelumi, an anonymous resident claimed that children had been locked in a room for days with no food or water.
She stated, “The kids were left for some time, they were locked in without water or food for several days.” Others claim that it’s been weeks, but others insist it was months.
A source of the police division, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to comment on this issue, informed our correspondent they had information that three children (two boys and one girl) between the age of 2 and 4 were being held by their grandmother in Agodo, Ikotun.
Sources said that the babies were brought to a station despite their appearance of malnutrition.
At about 1600 hours on April 17th 2024 the Ikotun Division received information that their grandmother Fatimo GANIYU f had locked three children up in Agodo Egbe Ikotun. A team of detectives from the anti-crime unit was immediately dispatched to the area by the DPO. The children, who looked unhealthy and malnourished, were taken away to the police station.
