.HEYBURN (Idaho) (KMVT/KSVT). From 2019-2023, the rate of growth for women-owned companies was 94% higher than that of businesses owned by males.
Why are women starting or running their own small businesses so popular?
What I have seen is that women are motivated by many different factors. They may be built to succeed and want it so much that they go ahead. This could mean a restructuring or layoffs at work, both of which are unfortunate but can be seen as a blessing because they will be free to follow their passion and enjoy more freedom in their career and income.
Nikki Beck is a woman who has been built to succeed. She owns a business called Lucky Lake 208 in Heyburn. Like all entrepreneurs, Nikki Beck began her business with a vision for success.
“We drove by the place constantly and I kept saying hey Hun, I really like this idea. I am super excited.” We are now 16 months on and have already built an RV site, cabins, a laundromat and a convenience shop.
Beck was raised and born in Mini-Cassia, so opening a home business meant a great deal to her. Lucky Lake 208 is not yet a year old (August 2023), but she’s grateful that it’s been a success so far.
This is exciting. I always hoped to be where I am right now. Beck added, “We have other businesses. Putting a company together and seeing it thrive is an amazing feeling.”
You can’t do it unless you get other people to help you. You can ask your banker, accountant or public to help you. “The public is the absolute number one person that you can turn to for help.”
Lucky Lake 208 will also highlight other women-owned small businesses located in Mini-Cassia by selling and displaying their products in front of the store. Small businesses thrive when they work together.
