South Mississippi Smiles Dentistry has donated money to Traintastic Museum and three non-profit local organizations.
The dentistry awards three cheques annually as part of the voting contest for caring for communities.
South Mississippi Smiles claims that the program enables them to raise awareness about local charitable activities along the Gulf Coast.
Elijah’s Closet won the first prize, Brandon’s Closet came in second, while Traintastic took home $1000.
Ashley Ogans, Cynthia Butler and Brandon’s Place Nonprofit said: “We strive to prevent children from being homeless or incarcerated. If a child doesn’t have anywhere to go then their next step will be to become homeless.” We try to prevent that.
Nikki Williams, of Elijah’s Closet non-profit said: “The more the community works together in this way, the more we are able to help.” The community’s support is the reason we helped 131 children in March alone.
