The Chief Secretary orders a prompt survey of crop damage and the removal of grain stock in Mandis.

)- Haryana, Chief Secretary Sh. T.V.S.N Prasad has today instructed the Deputy commissioners to survey damaged crops as soon as possible to provide timely compensation to affected farmers. The farmer’s satisfaction was his main concern.
Chief Secretary reviewed the ongoing procurement activity during the Rabi marketing season in Haryana, with representatives of the Food Corporation of India, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, and other agencies. The Deputy Commissioners were able to participate in the videoconference meeting.
Sh. Prasad insisted that stocks must be removed from Mandis as soon as possible, and at least 50% of them should have been transferred into godowns before tomorrow night. He instructed Deputy Commissioners in order to promote dialogue between farmers and commission agents. Farmers were urged to stop bringing crops into the Mandis so that space could be made for new wheat deliveries. There will therefore be no purchases tomorrow. On April 21, there will be no purchase. The Chief Secretary also highlighted that the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department had also authorized district authorities to use vehicles owned by Arhatis (commission agents) to transport crops from Mandis into warehouses. The department will pay them rates for the vehicles they hire. He said that the initiative was designed to increase the number of available transportation resources, and speed up the adoption process.
Chief Secretary directed Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners and officers in charge of Rabi crop procurement to pay farmers within 72-hours after issuing J-Form. The Chief Secretary also instructed the Administrative Secretaries to make a visit to the Mandis allotted to them to ensure that the procurement of grain is seamless.
Sh. Prasad instructed the officers to ensure that the farmers would not have any problems selling their crops and should receive payment within the specified period. For the benefit of farmers, the Chief Secretary said that silos were also converted into procurement centers so they could take their crop directly to be sold.

Number of copies should be mentioned on published material
Chandigarh-20 April ()- Karnal, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Sh. Uttam Sing stressed that the names of publishers and the number of copies should appear on all printed material during the Karnal Assembly By-Elections, which will take place in April 2024, along with the Lok Sabha General Elections-2024. The Election Commission of India (ECI), the Haryana Election Commission and the district administration would closely monitor election expenses, he said. Printing press operators must fill in Annexure Forms One & Two, which asks for clarification of the printing company and sponsoring party. The press operator will have to give details on how many copies of the campaign material were printed. Before publishing any election campaign materials, the District Election Officer advised that press operators check the content and language of such material to ensure that it does not contain objectionable words. Language used in campaign materials should be respectful and not derogatory towards any individual or group. In the event that a complaint in this respect is made, both the publisher of the material and the person who requested its publication can be held accountable under Section 127A of Representation Act 1951.
Further, he stated that all details regarding the printing of handbills and pamphlets as well as posters, banners etc. will be maintained by the operator. The Election Department can request it at any moment. It is the responsibility of the printer and person responsible for the publication to print the material. In this case, the Model Code of Conduct should be taken into consideration.

– Kaithal, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Sh. Prashant panwar stated that the Election Commission, in its move to digitization has enabled users to complete important tasks related with elections online.

He said that if a voter’s voter ID has been lost or they want to save a digital copy of their voting card, then it is easy for them to download the same on their mobile phone or computer from the Voter Helpline app. The Voter Helpline App or Election Commission website allows voters to download their card using their computer or mobile. Voters.eci.gov.inThe digital card eEPIC, which is the electronic version of the voter ID card can be downloaded to DigiLocker or printed.
eEPIC: Non-editable version in PDF of the original ID card for voters
Sh. Panwar stated that the eEPIC card was a PDF version non-editable of the original ID card. This PDF can be used to prove your identity and address. You can easily access this digital proof by saving it to your mobile or DigiLocker. The National Voter Portal (eci.gov.in)is the place to go to get the digital ID card. Users will have to sign up. Click on Download e-EPIC. Enter the eEPIC or form reference numbers. A OTP is sent to the mobile number registered. The option to download eEPIC is then available.
