IS RESTORATION EFFORTS CONTINUE ON THE KEY BRIDG. NONPROFITS PLAY A KEY ROLE IN GETTING THOSE IMPACTED BACKWARDS. SABRINA WALKER HERNANDEZ, NONPROFIT CONSULTANT, WILL BE JOINING OUR LIVE TALK THIS MORNING FOR MORE. Thank you for being here. Thank you for having me. Tell us how non-profits are helping those affected by the tragedy. You know, non-profits are instrumental in providing immediate assistance, uh, that affects the family and community. They offer essential services such as shelter, food, counseling, service, and their quick response. IT HAS BEEN PIVOTAL AND CAN BE PIVOTAL, PIVOTAL, PIVOTAL IN EASING THE IMPACT OF THIS TRAGEDY. Let’s talk about some of the economic losses that people have had to endure because of this. They don’t get their paycheques and they’re worried about food, bills. How can non-profits help? You know, non-profits can contribute to the city’s recovery by mobilizing resources, coordinating volunteers, and implementing programs aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, supporting businesses, and assisting affected individuals or families. Their expertise is in community engagement, and fundraising can make a significant difference to the recovery process. YES. How can people get involved? How can they help these non-profits? How do we find out which non-profits are involved? You know, the public and citizens can get involved by volunteering. AGAIN. They can volunteer their time. THEY CAN DONATE FUNDS OR SUPPLIES AND ADVOCATE FOR POLICY CHANGES AND SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT NONPROFIT WORK AND ENGAGING WITH LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. Allowing individuals to directly contribute and make a positive impact on their communities is a great way for them to feel empowered. WHOM SHOULD SOMEONE CONTACT IF THEY’VE BEEN PERSONALLY AFFECTED BY THIS BRIDGE COLLAPSE? In the event of, you know, I will say this across the board in case of personal impact from a disaster, individuals can reach out to reputable non-profit organizations, local government services, community support groups, or an emergency response agency.
