TEXARKANA (Texas) – East Texas Giving Day accepts donations for more than 360 nonprofit organizations across 32 counties.
The early giving period is now open until Tuesday midnight. Bowie County’s 34 non-profits participating in the early giving campaign are looking forward to receiving donations.
Matching funds are available from many organizations. For example, Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank, Hospice of Texarkana and the Texarkana Regional Food Bank.
Camille Wrinkle, Executive director of Harvest Texarkana, says that donations will be used to support their services such as mobile pantries, summer child feeding programs, and 75 church pantrys.
Wrinkle said, “We’re now able to leverage those funds to raise even more money that is needed especially as we head into the summer months for our summer food program.”
Hospice of Texarkana hopes to raise at least $20,000 in this fiscal year.
Cindy Marsh, Executive Director of the Center for Health Care Innovation and Education (CCI), says that money raised will go towards team training as well as unfunded patient services.
Marsh said, “We do not want to lose a single dollar of this chance and encourage everyone who is interested in Hospice of Texarkana at this moment to donate.”
