CLEVELAND (WJW) – A suspect is dead after investigators say they tried to carjack an Amazon driver’s vehicle in Cleveland Saturday afternoon.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, detectives are investigation a shooting that happened around 4:05 p.m. by the intersection of West 48th Street and Franklin Avenue.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect approached an Amazon delivery driver, attempting to carjack the vehicle.
Shots were reportedly fired during the interaction, and investigators say the suspect drove away in the Amazon vehicle but crashed shortly after.
EMS crews pronounced the suspect dead at the scene.
A resident on West 48th Street shared photos with FOX 8, saying her car was struck by a bullet during the shooting.
