may soon bring a Gemini Artificial Intelligence (AI) extension for its YouTube Music. First spotted and enabled by Android Authority, the
YouTube Music
extension in Gemini is available on the Google app version 15.17.28.29.arm64.
Readers must note that the new
Gemini AI
integration with YouTube Music is not currently live within Gemini. It is currently listed on the ‘Extension’ page.
YouTube Music’s Gemini AI extension to offer better results
With the integration, Gemini AI will be able to access data from your YouTube Music account, like your playlists, playback history, and preferences. Users will be able to play, search and discover their favorite songs, artists, playlists and more.
Once the extension is enabled, users will get results from YouTube every time they conduct a Gemini search. Tapping on the search result will take them to the YouTube Music app on their phone. If the app is not available on the device, Gemini will play music from the web version of YouTube Music.
In related news, Google has rolled out Gemini integration into the desktop version of Chrome browser. With the latest update, Chrome’s address bar on Desktop gets Gemini support and users can now access the AI-chatbot directly from it.
The feature can be accessed by Chrome’s ombibox shortcut that was added back in 2022. To access, all users have to do is type the @ symbol in the address bar.
Once typed, users will see the “Chat with Gemini” option. Selecting it enables Gemini into the address bar.
