Fifteen local small business owners and future entrepreneurs celebrated a milestone moment earlier this month when they graduated from the Small Business Jump Start program, which focuses on facilitating business planning and growth.
Over a nine-week period that began in February, SBJS participants attended weekly evening classes in the basement of the Northwest Bank building in Franklin, where they were instructed by Gary Svetz, owner of Svetz Consulting Services in Meadville.

Venango County will sponsor a collection event for both household hazardous waste and electronics from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Venango County community recycling center at 134 Hangar Drive in Franklin next to Venango Regional Airport.

The Small Business Jump Start program offers fall and spring classes in Franklin and Meadville. Classes in Franklin are held at the Northwest Bank building on Liberty Street.

ANNIVERSARY: Whitton/50 years
Randy and Marsha Kuntz Whitton, of Tionesta, were married 50 years ago on May 25, 1974, at the Tionesta United Methodist Church. The Rev. Merritt Edder officiated. Randy and Marsha have faithfully attended church there ever since.
Venango County receives nearly $27K
