WHITE HALL, W.Va (WDTV) – The Middletown Commons is quickly becoming a hotspot for shopping. In the past two years, the complex has added more than two dozen stores and has no plans to release the gas anytime soon. At the start of 2024, the highly-anticipated Chipotle location opened. Now, construction of its soon-to-be neighbor, Starbucks, is nearing completion and is expected to be ready in the next few months. The Commons is owned and managed by Metro Property Management, Premier Commercial Real Estate Services negotiates the business leasing. Premieres’ associate broker, Jonathan Howard says Middletown Commons’ versatility will prove fruitful to the White Hall area.
“It [Middletown Commons] took a spot that really wasn’t a public space and created it into one,” Howard said. “Now you got this place you can go walk, eat, shop. There’s the nice big patio area where people have events. They’ve been doing car meets in the back. There’s just more stuff to do, more options, more amenities. I’m sure there are going to be more houses, and more apartments coming with that. It brings more people, and stimulates more dollars for the businesses here, for White Hall in general with businesses opening up, and businesses moving here. It just trickles down from there.”
As of June, four more businesses are in the early stages of moving in, with the complex closing in at 80% capacity. Howard is already thinking of his next project which involves a few national stores.
“We’re getting ready to build a strip plaza in front of the car wash,” Howard said. “We’re going to have one big national anchor, anchor that with another national if not two more to follow suit to take up space in the building. We have a couple of other 1500-square-foot bays we are going to have next to those nationals. If any small businesses in the area or even regional, franchisee-type businesses want to come, we’re getting ready to do that. Probably going to break ground in the next month or two would be my guess.
