CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – A Greater Cincinnati organization that supports charities has launched an effort to aid long-term sustainability for other nonprofits in the region.
The Northern Cincinnati Foundation, a West Chester Township-based philanthropy that targets the northern Tri-State, has started a program it calls “Here for Good.”
According to the foundation, research shows that 30% of nonprofits don’t last more than 10 years. Having secured its own operating endowment as it enters its 25th year, the Northern Cincinnati Foundation is now providing $100,000 in grants to help to other charitable groups boost their stability through the creation of endowments, as well as guidance on fiscal matters and donor strategy.
