A former Bend resident breaks two world records, all while raising money for a good cause.
Tammy Kovaluk set out to break the 1 hour and 12-hour Guinness World Records for most weight lifted by kettlebell swing at Foundation Health and Fitness in Bend on Saturday.
Tammy broke both records in the women’s category at 1,759 swings in an hour reaching 70,360lbs.
While Kovaluk’s attempt at the men’s 12-hour category may have fell short due to recent illness, she certainly made up for it with will power and determination.
“It wasn’t a perfect setting and life isn’t like that, you just have to go through it and face hard times and get through obstacles and challenges,” said Tammy Kovaluk, a sports trainer and strength coach from Canada and a former Bend resident.
Tammy continued kettlebell swings into the evening raising money for Aimee Beaulieu Transition House and Operation Freedom Paws.
The Guinness World Records should be confirmed in a couple of months.
