Small business owners in the second cohort of Achievers Entrepreneurial Hub celebrated graduating from the course, after spending months in the program and learning the ins and outs of what it takes to be a business owner.
The owners meet once for a week for 12 months learning how to network, meet with clients and hear from speakers already in the business field.
Graduate and owner of MEON Landscaping and Plowing, Cordel Quinn, said the course was just what he needed.
“I had an idea of what I wanted to do but I did not have the resources, so coming here it made it easy for me, they had everything I needed to get connected and get started with what I needed to do with my company,” Quinn said.
Kimani Smith graduated and is the owner of 3Ls Life, Legacy, Longevity Solutions and said the program has helped him change his career path.
“I was actually selling life insurance for two years before I learned about the AEH program, now I was able to set up my own business and I am feeling good about being my own boss,” Smith said.
Both owners said they could not have done it without their mentor and program instructor Floyd Hull.
Hull credited the students for sticking with the program and graduating, which he believes is an example of a community supporting one another.
“Think how much better that community is, I want this community to be one of the best communities in the United States,” Hull said.
Hull said if you want to be a part of the third cohort, you can apply by stopping by 930 Liberty Street.
