STARBUCKS has officially launched two new energy drinks with levels of caffeine so high, customers can’t believe their eyes.
The new menu options come just months after Panera discontinued similar caffeinated drinks that has landed the company in legal trouble.

This month, Starbucks introduced two new permanent menu items for customers looking for some help to wake up in the morning.
The Tropical Citrus Iced Energy and Melon Burst Iced Energy drinks feature caffeine levels much higher than a typical Cafe Latte from the coffee chain that has 150 milligrams of caffeine.
Both drinks can now be purchased in a Venti – 24 fl oz – size.
The Melon flavored drink, while only 10 calories, has approximately 180 milligrams of caffeine in it.

Meanwhile the Citrus flavored drink has 5 calories and 205 milligrams of caffeine.
NBC News has estimated that this is approximately the same amount as six cans of Coca-Cola.
The caffeine levels are similar to those of other popular energy drinks such as Celsuis and Red Bulls.
While some might find the caffeine levels concerning, they are within the daily recommended limits.

Panera Bread’s Charged Lemonade ‘gave woman, 28, long-term heart problems,’ suit alleges after 2 deaths linked to drink
Starbucks fans have been left shocked over the new menu items.
One customer took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to call the new drinks “unbelievable.”
“Starbucks is now trying to give people heart attacks! Do not support Starbucks,” another wrote.
Meanwhile, a third X user shared a gif image of a man with a gaping mouth.
Others compared the drinks to the controversial energy lemonade that has since been discontinued.
“As a caffeine junkie, it’s interesting to see Starbucks offering iced energy drinks after the issues with Panera,” another said.
Caffeine Content
There are a number of popular sparkling caffeine drinks on the market.
Celsius energy drinks, a popular line of sparkling energy drink, have between 200 and 300 mg of caffeine in a 12-ounce can.
Red Bulls of the same size have around 100 mg of caffeine.
A large Sparkd’ energy, Dunkin’s new sparkling drink, has about 192 mg of the stimulant.
Panera’s Charged Lemonades, famous after allegedly causing deaths, have around 236 mg of caffeine in a large cup.
Starbucks’ new drink will have 180-205 mg of caffeine.
In early May, Panera confirmed the restaurant chain would be phasing out its contentious Charged Lemonade drink.
The drink was first introduced in 2022 with three different flavors.
Customers were able to purchase the fruity-flavored lemonade in either 20 fl oz or 30 fl oz sizes.
The drinks were criticized for their high caffeine content with the smallest size containing 260 milligrams of caffeine.
The larger option contained around 390 milligrams of caffeine.
The restaurant chain has been hit with at least four lawsuits over the controversial drink, with some diners claiming they had to be resuscitated after drinking a Charged Lemonade.
Other victims have claimed their family members died after reportedly consuming the beverage.
As Panera has removed the highly caffeinated drinks from its menu, the company has previously said it is moving forward with some low sugar and low caffeine options for customers.
