Mazda Toyota Manufacturing announced $170,000 in donations to 21 local nonprofits on Friday. The company says the donations are made possible through their MTM Grant Fund. Mazda Toyota Manufacturing says the initial 2024 investment is the largest for MTM since the fund started in 2022.
“This grant fund cycle was extremely competitive, with many incredibly deserving nonprofits,” said MTM Vice President of Administration, Rhonda Gilyard. “Our Grant Fund Committee was able to hear from the nonprofits themselves about their programs and their organizations’ missions – it was an informative, eye-opening experience for our team.”
MTM says it was the second time they hosted their nonprofit partners for an in-person grant fund pitch in Madison. They say they received more than 80 applications for funding. Out of those applicants, MTM awarded 21 finalists grants ranging from $15,000 to $1,000.
“We love for our team to hear from our nonprofit partners in person, which helps them make the final decisions on funding amounts for every program,” explained Jessica Luther, External Affairs Specialist at MTM. “We know it is the people and the passion behind these organizations that are the engine to drive their mission, and it is so impactful to hear it in their words.”
MTM says they’re proud to support HEALS, Inc., The Care Center, Athens-Limestone Hospital Foundation, Crisis Services of North Alabama, Huntsville Botanical Garden, Decatur Morgan County Minority Development Association, Calhoun College Foundation, Alabama Nonviolent Offenders Organization, ARC of Madison County, CNI Solutions, First Stop, Generosity Foundation, Madison City Schools, One Generation Away, Village of Promise, The Enrichment Center, Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama, Girls on the Run, Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Drake State Technical College Foundation, and Athens High School.
