The Philadelphia 76ers got their guy. After waiting all season to get to this point, President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey did not waste much time in nabbing Paul George to steal him away from the Los Angeles Clippers in the middle of the night. Morey needed to bring in a wing player who could produce on both ends and he got one on George.
George is a 9-time All-Star who averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 41.3% from deep in the 2023-24 season. He’s getting up there in age (34), but he is still a wonderful player and is fresh off an All-Star season.
Some have concerns about George’s injury history. He played 48, 54, 31, and 56 games in his first four seasons in LA, respectively, but he did play 74 games in the 2023-24 season. This is the huge upgrade the Sixers were looking for to surround Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey with.
