The Warren Community Action Fund at the Blue Mountain Community Foundation has approved 19 grants to support area nonprofits providing services in Walla Walla and Columbia counties, according to a Foundation new release.
This is the seventh year of grant awards through the Warren Fund. In that time, more than $400,000 has been distributed to support the community during the years, according to the release.
This year’s awards were made to the following projects:
- Abundant Life Childcare — $2,000 to support their childcare program.
- Blue Mountain Heritage Society — $2,500 for assistance in relocating the Eslick Bunkhouse.
- Blue Mountain Resource Conservation & Development Council — $3,000 to support Camp Wooten’s 2024 environmental education.
- City of Dayton — $5,000 to support the City of Dayton Cemetery irrigation repairs, replacement and maintenance.
- Columbia County — $5,000 to support the Touchet Valley Golf Course underground sprinkler installation phase 3.2.
- Columbia County Community Network — $6,000 to support the Columbia County Fairgrounds entryway improvements.
- Columbia-Walla Walla County Fire District #2 — $1,000 to support emergency warning light upgrades.
- Dayton Chamber of Commerce — $4,000 to support the community reader board replacement.
- Prescott Joint Park & Recreation District — $4,750 to support the water safety project.
- Project Timothy Christian Aid Center — $6,000 for general operations support.
- Skyline Adventures — $1,500 to support the ski and snowboard experience program.
- The Cardinal’s Nest — $1,750 to support the summer enrichment program.
- The Club — $6,000 to support the 2024-25 after school program.
- Touchet Valley Arts Council — $1,750 to support the 2024 summer cultural enrichment program.
- Waitsburg Christian Church — $500 to purchase flood relief sump pumps.
- Waitsburg Town Hall Association — $3,000 to support refinishing of the Waitsburg Town Hall Main hall flooring.
- Walla Walla Senior Center — $2,000 to support senior nutrition in Waitsburg.
- Weller Public Library — $2,000 to create a historical display and children’s community wall.
- YWCA — $1,000 to support the YWCA Fun Factory.
