GAINESVILLE (Fla.) (WCJB). The UF Business and Supplier Diversity Department offers small-business owners the opportunity to collaborate with the University.
This networking opportunity will allow businesses in the food and construction industries to expand their business. This is also a great opportunity for existing contractors to become more involved.
Attendance is expected at the event to include more than 80 exhibitors, including 30 caterers who are approved by small, minority and women-owned business owners.
Dwan Courtney is the director of the UF Small Business and Supplier Diversity Department. He says that this fair will be a great jumpstart for many entrepreneurs.
Courtney said that it was difficult for business owners to grasp the concept of working with an institution as large and influential as University of Florida. When we gather many of our departments in one place, it gives them the opportunity to listen to key decision-makers and understand what it is like to work at UF.
A trade fair will be held, as well as panel discussions. This time, the organizers have added more experts to increase opportunities.
We’re teaching our companies what it takes to be a small certified business. We’re working with state and local agencies to teach them what it is to become a small certified business.
The fair will accept walk-ins. You can register at the event and meet with an expert if you are a new business owner or just starting out.
Starting at 10am, the event will take place in the Reitz Union Center’s grand ballroom.
